This resort is an amazing haven for families, with breathtaking views and fantastic amenities. The cleanliness and comfort of the chalet exceeded my expectations, making it a memorable stay. However, I felt that the room decor could use a refresh to match the beautiful surroundings more closely. The availability of a free bus pass was a huge plus for easy access to nearby attractions.

My stay was quite disappointing overall. The location was decent for exploring, but the rooms had a serious issue with cleanliness and comfort. I faced significant safety hazards and inadequate service during my visit. While the overall price seemed reasonable, the value for what I experienced was lacking due to the state of the accommodations.

Rooms
5.0
The rooms were outdated, with old carpet and a musty smell. The couch was uncomfortable, and there were safety issues like a wall bed that didn't seem secure. Overall, I would rate the rooms quite low.
Service
5.0
I found the service to be lacking. The front desk staff did not seem to care about my concerns, and I couldn't get any response from the management despite trying multiple times.
Location

The location was convenient for accessing Banff, which was a plus. However, it wasn't close enough to town for easy exploration without driving.

Facilities needed improvement as well. The management didn't seem focused on maintaining the property, leaving it feeling neglected and unsafe.

I recently stayed at the Douglas Fir Resort and while it has some great aspects, there were definitely a few drawbacks. The location is fantastic and the views are lovely, but the rooms could really use an update and my sheets weren't the best. Overall, it was decent value for money, especially given the amenities, but some things definitely need improvement.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious and had a nice view, but it felt quite dated and there were some cleanliness issues, like a small stain on the duvet.
Service
7.0
The staff were helpful when I needed assistance, but they often seemed bored and uninterested otherwise.
Location

The resort is in a quieter spot, away from the busy downtown, which I appreciated, but it was still a quick bus ride into town.
Dining
6.0
I appreciated the convenience of the small store nearby for grocery needs, but the breakfast options could be improved.
Facilities
7.0
The hot tub and pool were great, especially after a long hike, but the laundry facilities were a bit lacking.

Our stay at the resort provided a mix of experiences. The location is fantastic, surrounded by stunning mountain views and within a short drive of Banff. The room was spacious with a kitchenette, great for families, but we faced some issues with cleanliness and housekeeping that were quite disappointing. The amenities, especially the pool and waterslide, were a hit with the kids, making it a fun stay overall.

Rooms
7.0
The room was a good size and had a kitchenette, which saved us money on meals. However, while it was large enough for our family, the interiors felt a bit dated.
Service
5.0
Service was generally lacking; housekeeping was inconsistent and there were issues with cleaning during our stay. We did get assistance with our requests, but it took longer than expected.
Location
9.0
The resort is beautifully located on the outskirts of town, allowing for magnificent mountain views while being close enough to drive into Banff for shopping and dining.

The facilities are quite nice, especially for families, with a big pool and waterslide which the kids absolutely enjoyed. I think they could use better maintenance to improve the overall experience.

I had a great time at the resort, enjoying its cozy atmosphere away from the bustling tourist spots. The rooms were spacious and included all the basic amenities, though a few areas could use a bit of maintenance. The outdoor and indoor hot tubs were a hit with us, making the stay more enjoyable. While the service was decent, some issues like cleanliness were concerning. Overall, it's a good value for the beautiful views and amenities available.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were spacious and cozy, but they felt a bit dated and could do with better sound insulation. The fireplace was a lovely touch for chilly nights.
Service
6.0
The service was generally okay, although some staff appeared distracted and maintenance issues weren't addressed promptly. They were apologetic about certain problems.
Location
9.0
The resort's location was great; it was quiet and offered easy access to downtown Banff with a complimentary bus pass. It felt nice to be away from the busy main street.
Dining
8.0
We enjoyed the breakfast kit provided, which was perfect for our needs without needing to head into town early.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were decent, with an enjoyable pool area and water slides. However, some amenities weren't in the best condition.
